The homepage which displays:
- Popular Posts
- Latest Posts
- Australian Florins – a selection of posts from the blog dealing with Australian Florins.
- pre-1910 Coins – a selection of posts from the blog dealing with pre-1910 coins. At the moment this really means coins from the UK, US, Netherlands & colonial Spain; any item that could reasonably be expected to have formed part of Australia’s early currency.
- Lots of other stuff…a selection of posts from the blog – book reviews, the silver price, copper coins, coin photography and anything else that doesn’t really fit in the other categories!
Here you can select the currency to display throughout the site, as well as view –
Browse the complete catalogue of available coins, sort options (by latest, by price, etc) – coins are loaded 5 at a time.
Since there are a lot of coins to go through, it’s probably a lot easier to navigate via the menu or use the search boxes.
Currently the majority of coins on offer are Australian florins.
Here are all the available high quality and/or rarer florins, shillings and crowns – from 1910-1939 only – all in one place.
Here are all the available higher quality, harder to find florins – from 1940-1963 only – all in one place, everything in aUnc or better (AU58-MS60 and up).

Images of Australian florins organised by grade and type, eg KGV florin in EF. The grading follows the ANDA guidelines. This resource is limited by the coins, since only those coins I can handle and photograph are presented.
Still, it at least gives you a range of images that can be compared effectively as all the photos were taken using the same camera and lighting setup. That also applies to all the coin photos throughout this site.
A ‘landing page’ that provides links to graded images of Australian florins by type, and the ANDA resource.
