Diamonds & pearls

This post looks at some things to consider for the ‘heads side’ of Australian KGV florins – a series that ran from 1911-1936.

Design details

The basic design for the obverse throughout the period was a left facing portrait of King George V of Great Britain.

Wear

The high points of the design are

  • around the central portion of the band of the crown

Also important is that the portrait is clear and free of blemishes.
