As I write this post, which is focussed on the pre1946silver blog/website rather than a coin, I find myself up to the ears in computer type stuff – not my favourite topic, however very necessary especially these days.
But before getting into all of that, this is a good opportunity for me to say thanks to all those who visit the site, so “Thankyou for your support”!
Over the last year there has been a steady increase in visitor numbers and views and that has definitely helped and encouraged me to keep going, it’s nice to know that there are people interested in the content and I really do greatly appreciate those that take the time to like a post and/or return to see what’s happening.
Going Forward
So recently the decision was made to invest a bit more time, effort and, of course, money, in order to add more functionality and hopefully improve things overall for everyone.
What this means is that pre1946silver will get a bit of a facelift over the next few weeks.
There probably won’t be a lot of changes to the current look and feel since that seems to be ticking over nicely, and what’s going to be added is mostly behind the scenes in what they call the site’s ‘backend’.
New stuff – international orders plus coupons for all!
Going forward, visitors from the US, Canada, UK, Japan and New Zealand will have full access to the coins for sale and people from those countries, as well as anyone based in Australia, will also be able to use promotional codes to get discounts.
There will be a ‘shopping cart’ and a ‘My Account’ section that allows you to log in and do things like check up on the status of any purchases, for example.
Inevitably there will be a bit of a weird period while the site migrates to its new configuration, but hopefully it’ll all be quite smooth and won’t affect you directly…
Anyway, at this point I’m going to give a plug to WordPress – they are the company that hosts the site and their level of support has been terrific, in fact it’s one of their products (WooCommerce) that will beef up my backend!
If you ever go down the path of putting together a blog or website, you could do a lot worse than partnering with them.
That’s it for now, thankyou once again for reading the posts and checking out the coins…
Happy Collecting!
